A New Chapter

Hey All,

So I've decided that since I'll have very limited free time at school it would be a good idea to start up a new blog. For the sake of my own sanity, I'll have to have at least a few free hours a week during which I can certainly manage an update.

It's just about a month until I pack up Jasper (my Jeep) and head south to N'Owlans. It's about a 22 hour drive so let's hope good ole Jasper can even make it. He just had a very expensive tune-up so hopefully all will be well on that front. I had looked into renting a Uhaul, but who knew that would cost an arm and a leg! The new plan is to ship my clothes down there and just buy cheap furniture for my room, which will hopefully end up costing me less in the end. Since I'm financing my whole education I'm on "a frugal student budget" which basically means I'll be poor for a while. I think it's funny how financial aid at Tulane words it that way... "frugal student budget" aka get used to cup-o-noodles and doing your own hair, nails, etc. because for the next 25 years you'll be in a huge amount of debt. I'm sure the sacrifice will be worth it one day.

I'm pretty excited at the though of finally getting back into school mode, but I'm more excited that the whole pre-law process is finally complete. The LSAT prep and law school application process is so stressful because everything is up in the air. You have to decide where you want to be living and how that choice will affect so many aspects of your life. In picking a school you have to think about what state you want to practice in, what type of law you want to practice, how much school will cost, how high ranked the school is, and how good your chances are for getting a job when you graduate. That is A LOT if information to consider! I know that school will not be any less stressful; it will probably be one of the greatest challenges of my life. To that point, I am 100% certain that I will not only get through law school, I will thrive in law school. Before I travelled to Australia I wasn't really sure if law school was the right place for me. Although I'm not sure when the moment of clarity finally hit, I know that law school is the only path for me at this point. I'm still not quite sure where I will end up after graduation, but this is the step that I need to take to achieve those far fetched dreams of mine.

So let the packing begin! Here I come N'Owlans!
